To ensure the safety of our staff and travelers, our distance check-in system is available upon request:
We will charge the card on file before your arrival.
An envelope with your name will be attached to the lobby door. A map is inside showing the location of your room.
The door to your room will be unlocked prior to your arrival and your keys will be inside.
Frequently touched extras have been removed from our rooms. Dog bowls and beds are available only by request. Please let us know if you will need these items prior to your arrival.
For our stay-over guests, please let know if you would not like our housekeeping staff to enter your room during your stay.

Cancellations received within 72 hours prior to arrival (except during special events) are subject to the first night’s room stay.
Office Hours – 8:00 am to 9:00 pm
Check in – 3:00 pm, Check out – 11:00 am
Rates – For two adults. Maximum of two guests per room except in Rosita, Hyacinth, and Rosemary which accommodate four guests.
There is a charge of $20 per additional adult. Children 12 years and under are free.
Pets – Your pets (dogs only) are welcome in most of our rooms. We do, however, have 3 rooms where pets are not allowed (Hyacinth, Orchid and Iris). There is a fee of $25 for one dog and $40 for two dogs per day.
Smoking – The Carmel Garden Inn is a non-smoking property.
Due to the historic nature of our property, our rooms and property are not ADA accessible.

Cancellations received within 72 hours prior to arrival (except during special events) are subject to the first night’s room stay.
Cancellations received with 21 days for Car Week (August) are charged the 3-night minimum stay requirement unless room is resold.
minimum stay requirement
Two-night minimum stay applies to Martin Luther King weekend, AT&T Pro-Am, Presidents Day, Easter, Big Sur Marathon, Memorial Day weekend, July 4th weekend, Concours on the Avenue, Labor Day weekend, Columbus Day weekend, Thanksgiving, and Christmas week.
Three-night minimum stay applies to Car Week.
